Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV)

Only 20 minutes by domestic flight from VIA, located in the island of Baa Dharavnadhoo, the airport lies in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll in the Maldives.

 

The ideal location to experience the best of the tropical paradise—Dharavandhoo is surrounded by clear waters known as ‘Dharavandhoo Thila’ and ‘Hanifaru Bay’; a sanctuary for a variety of marine life including manta rays and whale sharks which is strictly protected by the law.

Velana International Airport

Located in the Hulhule Island in the central Kaafu Atoll, Velana International Airport (VIA) is the main gateway into the Maldives for travelers—connecting major airports around the world. Opened on 19th October 1960 as Hulhule’ Airport, it has been rebranded on multiple occasions before officially being inaugurated under the new name of ‘Velana International Airport’; a tribute to the family house name of President Ibrahim Nasir who led the first airport development project nationwide.


Velana International Airport (VIA) has three terminals including; the International Terminal, the Domestic Terminal and the Water aerodrome Seaplane Terminal.
